Personal YouTube Channel

I’ve been occasionally posting my compositions to my personal YouTube channel, MichaelOST, since 2020. There you’ll find the full soundtracks for every currently released game I’ve worked on, as well as some original pieces every now and then. I also have links to collaborative YouTube projects I’ve participated in, and plan to post more once I’m allowed to talk about certain things!

A Quick Sampler

I’ve worked on tons of original music over the years, some of which I’ve uploaded to my YouTube Channel. Here are a few of my favorites from my personal projects, and from commission work I’ve done!

Pokemon Daybreak Fangame OST

Some tracks I composed for a Pokemon fan project. It was a ton of fun trying to accurately replicate the musical style and sonic palette of the GameBoy Advance.

Swap Ship Shootout

Swap Ship Shootout was a sidescrolling shoot-em-up solo project I created in Unity early on in my designer career. The game was mostly a proof of concept and a programming challenge for myself, to get more experience with the game engine, but that didn’t stop the musician in me from making its very own level and boss themes.

Original Songs

One of my personal favorite tracks, inspired by many of the game’s I played on the Nintendo DS as a kid.

A peaceful and serene orchestral piece reminiscent of walking through a magical forest

A funky EDM-style boss theme for an awesome indie game that doesn’t exist.

Smaller Collaborative Projects

A collaborative album project created by the Maj7 Discord Server. Each track was created by sending one of our unfinished projects to another composer and having them finish it. My unfinished track was completed as track 4, and the other composer’s track I finished resulted in track 28.

A fusion collab project focused on the music of the Splatoon series, featuring many composers I’ve previously worked with on similar video projects. My work for the project includes the cover of Into The Light at 19:14, and keyboard tracks for the final medley at 20:40.

Another, much smaller fusion collab project, with my section in the style of Super Mario Sunshine featured at 1:24.

Misc. Personal Projects

A Synthwave track I made for a fun little collaborative composing project organized by a Discord server I frequent full of some of the coolest and most amazing musicians I’ve ever met, with many of them working as full time game composers.

A funky level theme in the style of the Sega Genesis sound chip I created for a short-term game-jam like project I was a part of during my time at Champlain College. I mainly acted as one of our designers and programmers, but I’ll never turn down a chance to add my passion for music into my work.

A track inspired by the style of Hideki Naganuma that I made as my first foray into Logic Pro. I’m honestly surprised how well it came out considering it was my (at the time) first experience learning the DAW.

Remixes/Covers

The first (and currently only) remix track on my YouTube channel, an orchestral rock cover of the champion theme from Pokemon Black and White 2. I’m fairly proud of how it turned out, but I ended up learning from this project that I much prefer creating my own original music to making remixes, though I’ll likely make more remixes and covers in the future just to add some variety to my musical skilset.
